[A] Budget: Looking for Proposals
[B] Scope of Service:
(1) Vendor needs to provide full-time temporary personnel service for accountant senior or accounting manager to the government authority located in Richmond, VA.
- Provides accurate reconciliation of business accounts. This includes bank statements, credit cards and auditing of quarterly, monthly or yearly accounts. Duties include the financial preparation and analysis of accounts and reporting of financial variances and inaccuracies. Additional skills in accounting software packages and Excel will be beneficial.
- Perform monthly, quarterly and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, and reviewing financial reports and support as necessary.
- Analyze and report on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management, assist in budget preparation and analysis.
- Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
- Assist in the management of day-to-day accounting operations and help to ensure that there is a redundant process backup in place for every critical operation.
- Assist in developing, reviewing and creation of new internal accounting policies and assist in maintaining existing policies.
- Where applicable, determine and suggest ways to automate the accounting process without sacrificing accuracy and accountability.
- Develop monthly and quarterly accounting reports for the management and executive teams.
- Implement and monitor the month, quarter and year-end closeout accounting schedules.
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles.
- Provide accurate reconciliation of business accounts and general ledger. This includes bank statements, credit cards and auditing of quarterly, monthly or yearly accounts. Duties include the financial preparation and analysis of accounts and reporting of financial variances and inaccuracies, corrective action implementation and adherence to state accounting and reporting policies.
- Serve as the primary preparer of financial statement attachments to be included in the CAFR (combine annual financial report) for the commonwealth.
