Government Authority located in Richmond, Virginia; USA based organization looking for expert vendor for public medical director services.
[A] Budget: Looking for Proposal
[B] Scope of Service:
(1) Vendor needs to provide medical director services for medical center. This facility has three skilled nursing units with 160 beds, one 40 bed secure dementia unit. to the government authority located in Richmond, VA.
A. The Medical Director shall:
1. Responsible for implementation of resident care policies and the coordination of medical care in the facility.
2. Be knowledgeable of state and federal regulations regarding skilled long-term care facilities.
3. Meet all regulatory requirements for medical director functions within the facility.
4. Ensure the appropriateness and quality of medical care and medically related care.
5. Hold a current valid, unrestricted license to practice medicine.
6. Oversee (and help coordinate) the medical care and other designated care services.
7. Must be available during federal and state inspections to respond to surveyor questions.
8. Must be available to the administrator and director of nursing for consultation in developing policies and procedures, review implementation of current policies and procedures regarding clinical care of residents to help ensure the policies and procedures are clinically valid and consistent with current standards of care.
9. Update or review resident information in facility EMR (Electronic Medical Records software) in a timely manner.
10. Must be available to come in, as needed to assist the director of nursing with resident clinical issues and concerns.
11. Provide input to the administrator and director of nursing regarding scope and services provided by the facility.
12. Assist in the development of educational programs for facility staff and other professionals and provide training as needed to the facility staff and other professionals.
13. Must be knowledgeable about current professional standards of practice in caring for long-term care residents, to include center for medicare and medicaid services (CMS) regulations.
(2) A mandatory preproposal conference will be held on November 20, 2018.
(3) Contract period will be for one year.
